Intro

Hello!
I am Aritra, was born at Memari, India. I love numbers and soccer.
I am an aspiring sport scientist and Machine Learning researcher, pursuing a PhD from Bournemouth University along with AFC Bournemouth football club.. My PhD thesis is about "Multivariate Predictive Modelling of Soccer Injuries". I also work as part-time teaching assistant in computing at Bournemouth University.
My research interests include predictive modelling, explainability and interpretability of Machine Learning models, setting up a Machine Learning analogy to handle longitudinal data in soccer to get the most out of it.

By the way, I am a die-hard fan of Real Madrid. My interest in Soccer and Mathematics led me to do this PhD which is just not work but also a passion and joy at the same time. During my Masters at Bournemouth University, most of my projects include Machine learning in Soccer and I got the first prize in BU-conference for presenting the best research paper which also includes Soccer :).

Work

Jan 2017 - July 2017: Worked as an research intern at Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), India. The topic was "Mathematical Analysis and Optimization of a miniature Stirling cryocooler.

Sept 2019 - : Part-time teaching assistant for "Data Processing and Analytics" subject at Bournemouth University.

Sept 2019 - : Working at AFC Bournemouth to facilitate the club to predict early injuries and also enabling the club with automated data analysis and Machine Learning tasks.

Ongoing Work: Intend to publish my very first research paper in "Sports Medicine" journal which is about "Machine Learning for Injury Predicition". This research paper will enable the readers to take a look into the overall studies that have been done in the domain of Machine Learning and injuries related to Soccer.

Also a member of "Data Camp" Visit My Profile since 2017. Completed numerous courses which helped me to polish my Data science and Machine learning knowledge. Also "Udemy", "Data world" and especially "Google" - constant helpmate to quench my thirst of playing with data.

Skills

I prefer Python as a programming language. Though I have knowledge in HTML, CSS and Javascript. Also Anaconda (Jupyter notebook) comes to rescue while analyze the data and build python scripts. Visual studio code - the most preferrable code-editor.
